With gin distilleries popping up all over Scotland, competition is fierce, and standing out from the crowd is more important than ever
Created near the Cairngorm Mountains, Esker uses local botanicals and pure Deeside water, and is one of only a few gins to use silver birch sap in its recipe. The name itself describes the long glacial ridge (or ‘esker’) found nearby. The distinctive letter ‘S’ at the core of the new brand mark represents a simplified esker, while the palette is restrained and simple: a cool almost glacier-blue; and silver-grey (a nod to the birch). Around the core mark are graphic references to the local landscape – mountains, rivers and ancient castles... even contour lines of the esker.
The elements have been brought together and printed directly onto the bottle while the distinctive patterns form the backdrop for company stationery, corporate literature and promotional banners.
