Launching the Gift of Flight
Tasked with launching the world’s only cross-airline gift card, our brief was threefold: (1) generate widespread media coverage, (2) drive website traffic and (3) boost sales.
Knowing how much Brits love to travel, but hate the associated hassle – think trawling for cheap flights and blowing the holiday budget in the airport – we set about researching and crafting Flightgiftcard stories based on unusual flight hacks and top tips for making travellers’ journeys smoother.
These hit the spot with our media contacts, leading to cracking hits in Express.co.uk; The Sun on Sunday; Thesun.co.uk; Thesun.ie and The Times. Crucially, each piece included a link to Flightgiftcard.com, helping to drive consumers to the site and boosting SEO.
The team also set about targeting select journalists to trial the service through preloaded gift cards, garnering glowing reviews in The Daily Star on Sunday; OK! Magazine and blogger Vicky Flip Flop. Watch this space for further articles with MailOnline; The Sun/Thesun.co.uk; Metro.co.uk and New! Magazine all in the pipeline.
Not forgetting the gifting market, placements were secured in both Stylist’s Emerald Street and Sunday Times Travel Magazine with Flightgiftcard positioned as the ideal present for travel lovers.
Rooster’s launch (and ongoing work) has helped maintain business growth of +10% month on month, and established the UK as Flightgiftcard’s number one market with +35% of sales globally.
