The Client

San Carlo are a high-end Italian restaurant known for its scenery and celebrity-studded clientele. With 26 sites across the UK, Bangkok, Bahrain, Qatar and Ridyah, they provide a unique dining experience suitable for any occasion.

Objectives

San Carlo wanted to expand their brand’s awareness and engagement and therefore entrusted the services of Return. Through early detection, Return identified paid social strategies and organic strategies, optimising technical SEO and content marketing to achieve this.

  • Increase visibility, expanding on local presence and maximising engagements.
  • Increase brand awareness, conveying the high quality food and atmosphere provided by all San Carlo sites.

The Solution

The paid social aspect focused on growing awareness of the brand across all relevant customers for each restaurant. This occurred through quality creative and utilising different ad formats, maximising both moving image and visuals to highlight the USPs, ultimately increasing engagement.

San Carlo’s organic approach was to maximise local presence, which was achieved by increasing organic visibility and reiterating the relevancy for generic searches through on-site optimisation and development of a content marketing strategy.

The Results:

  • 60% increase in social traffic
  • £25 return on ad spend for every £1 spent
  • 39% increase in overall traffic (year on year March - September)
  • 41% increase in bookings
  • Video content reduced CPA by over 70%
