minicabit Consumer Mobile & Watch App

Redefining how people get from A to B

CHALLENGE

In early 2014 minicabit were the first-ever mobile app to succeed on Dragon’s Den. However the price comparison minicab app desperately needed a UX and design overhaul to bring it in line with a number of competitors in the marketplace.

SOLUTION

We analysed all the different customer journeys using our proprietary process, and then streamlined the booking process to allow a customer to get a quote almost instantly. In addition we completely overhauled the iOS and Android design, look and feel, giving a much more modern, clean interface to the app and adding playful animations in line with minicabit’s brand values. Furthermore we introduced unique-to-market features to the App such as "Via" for multiple drop off / pick up, and contextual tool tips which are user generated giving advice on where to get picked up from or how long it will take to get through an airport to the cab pick-up point.

IMPACT

Android launched to a 4.5 star average rating, and the new iOS App was highlighted by Apple in the App Store in Q1 2015. Product and service redesign has improved conversion by a massive 40%. Monthly active users have increased by 50%. Company valuation has also significantly boosted, as has profitability. The Apple Watch App launched in September 2015. The company has recently received over £1.4m of investment and is a strong position to thrive in a tough market.
