Camp Jack is Back! Jack Morton Announces Second Session of Free Creative Bootcamp

Today, Jack Morton launches its second session of Camp Jack, a free six-week immersive creative bootcamp designed to introduce curious people to the world of advertising.

Registration is now open, and the first course is scheduled to begin on July 20th. Interested individuals can register at http://camp-jack.com.

Camp Jack is open to everyone - from rising college seniors, recent grads to people without a degree or working adults exploring a career change. The only requirements are creative fire, desire to learn, and curious nature.

“A lot of people would thrive in the marketing and advertising industry, but they don’t know it’s a career option. That’s why we created Camp Jack. We want to give anyone who has an interest in knowing more, a taste of the business, especially those who have been overlooked or marginalized by traditional recruiting efforts,” said Steve Mooney, Managing Director, Jack Morton and director of Camp Jack.

Camp Jack consists of six weeks of virtual lessons and Campfire meetups. Virtual courses are led by industry veterans comprised of Jack Morton team members, leadership, and guest lecturers. Classes will cover fundamental skills in the business, including creating a big idea and bringing it to life (even when it seems impossible!), art and copy, how to successfully pitch an idea, and rapid prototyping for makers. Attendees will also participate in regular Campfire Meetups to ask questions, meet fellow campers and Jack camp counselors. They will also have a chance to submit ideas to a mentorship program.

After the camp ends, select individuals with the strongest ideas and most passion will participate in a mentorship program that will connect them one-on-one to someone at the agency, and expose them to the iterative creative process—presenting an idea, receiving feedback, and acting on that feedback. The goal is to develop an idea that will help get a foot in the door. Mentors will also provide valuable career advice and guidance to help set campers on their path.

Last year’s program attracted close to 400 registrants and two former campers are now working with the team at Jack Morton.

Prospective campers can sign up anytime between now and July 12th when registration closes.
