Mark McQueen gets into gear as he directs the new Red Bull Racing V

S Best of British campaign released over the British Grand Prix weekend. Shot at the famous Goodwood race track featuring the Best of British vehicles, from London's quintessential night bus, to the king of the skies - the iconic Spitfire. A gripping race between the six racers and the RB7 leaves viewers in agonising anticipation to see who can outwit Red Bull Racing.

With Max Verstappen behind the wheel of the F1 race car and Matt Jones as the pilot of the Spitfire, production was filled by a collection of talented stunt drivers and pilots performing precision movements to create a string of jaw dropping scenes. The F1’s maximum speed is around 200MPH, whereas the spitfire could only reach a minimum of 200mph whilst flying 50ft from the ground for the final shot. Therefore, the window to get the two vehicles to race side by side, was in fact a matter of great expertise and timing. However, we have to give it up for the ginger cabbies' skills on the track!

Although the initial creative brief for this project went through extensive strategic development over several months, Irresistible Studios compiled production into a two-day shoot, split between two units for maximum coverage. With only eight working days from sign off of the idea to shoot, the production team assessed and planned the various car races, where flights could take place, time frames for flights, and the production schedule was initiated.

Matt Nelson, Irresistible Studios Co-Founder said: ‘It’s always a pleasure working with the folks at Red Bull. Such a great bunch of people and a powerful brand. This has been a project to remember.’

Jake Hafer, Irresistible Studio’s, Head of Production said: ”To put it simply, producing ‘Best of British' was my favourite kind of challenge. Everything had to be planned meticulously. From the aerial acrobatics of our world-champion FPV drone pilot Luke Bannister to the brilliantly executed stunt driving of Paul Swift - every aspect of the shoot was extraordinary. Top that off with one of the most dominant F1 cars ever built and the magnificent Spitfire - it’s hard to pick just one highlight! We had to balance all of this with the ever-present COVID-19 challenge as well, so the devil really was in the details. Fortunately, we had a fantastic team, each of whom was integral in getting this over the line (pun intended) and the results speak for themselves."

As the two-day, action-packed filming came to an end, 48 hours and nearly 10TB of content were accumulated. The assets were then taken over by Irresistible Studios' talented editorial support team Peter Welton, Luke Aldrich, and lead by Editor Dragos - who worked their artistry to bring the work to life. Whereas online work was completed by the talented folks at CODA.

Irresistible Studios film for this campaign really had hearts racing as we led up to the British Grand Prix!
