HAINAN, China, May 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Independently owned, global live brand storytelling agency, INVNT has been a part of history in launching the new Atlantis Sanya, the first Atlantis resort in China, receiving tremendous accolades for its unparalleled Grand Opening Event. Held on Saturday 28thApril 2018, Atlantis Sanya hosted over 600 VIP attendees from China and around the world, where guests experienced an exclusive one-night-only original piece of themed musical theatre, written and produced specifically for the resort's launch, by INVNT Chief Creative Officer, Paul Blurton.
"The Atlantis Sanya Grand Opening demanded nothing less than spectacular for its world-wide debut," said Paul Blurton, INVNT's Chief Creative Officer. "We wanted to take the art of live brand storytelling to new heights of engagement and emotion. We crafted an original narrative, recontextualizing the ancient myth of Atlantis for the contemporary Chinese setting. Viewed through the lens of Chinese Myths and taking inspiration from the resort's breathtaking South China Sea destination, we united the oceanic fantasies of East and West, for an unforgettable evening full of international splendor, exhilaration and discovery," continued Mr. Blurton.
"The five-act performance was brought to life through the use of a dramatic original score, live instrumentation, bespoke lighting design, choreographed performance by a cast over 40, blending the urgency and physicality of dance with custom-designed costumes, life sized puppets and state-of-the-art theatrical technology," concluded Mr. Blurton.
The story centers on two young lovers -- played by Mimo and Walker -- who are swept into the ocean, rescued by magical sea creatures, and taken to the amazing underwater city of Atlantis. There, they meet Queen Atlantia – played by Leading Musical Theatre Performer Prinnie Stevens -- who blesses them and sends her message of love, peace and unity to the land for the crescendo moment of ATLANTIS RISING.
Laura Roberts, Managing Director of INVNT for APAC believes the success of the Atlantis Sanya launch is a result of INVNT's unparalleled global reach and proven methodology INVNTion™, which allows the agency to conceptualize, design and produce highly customized events regardless of the country, language, venue or target audience.
"From the creative concept and design phase, to stakeholder management, production and logistics, INVNT's full-service approach ensured a seamless and integrated activation for the Atlantis Sanya Grand Opening and the hotel's first China debut," explained Ms. Roberts. "It is also INVNT's global network, that allowed us to bring together a bespoke team of creative INVNTrs from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore and New York City to develop and deliver what was an unprecedented interpretation of the Atlantis Sanya brand," concluded Ms. Roberts.
According to Scott Cullather, Co-Founder and CEO of INVNT, "Our agency has a very unique ability to design and produce targeted live stories for key audiences that are on brand and message, yet challenge the status quo, therefore stick and spread. By using the full range of live brand storytelling techniques we are able to transform 'live' and 'virtual' audiences globally into instant advocates or what we refer to as citizen journalists."
"The Atlantis Sanya executive team wanted an unrivalled global spectacle that would mesmerize the audience and rocket across the universe of influencers, vacation travellers, MICE travel market and culture at large! The overwhelming response received, from all corners of the world, suggests that this was certainly achieved", concluded Mr. Cullather.
