London, 28th June 2023: Electric vehicle charging company, EO Charging, and independent creative agency Impero today launch the new “Breaking up with Big Oil” campaign
The Out Of Home (OOH) campaign challenges Big Oil, the world's largest publicly owned oil and gas companies, to accelerate the journey towards renewable energy and introduces the Mini Pro 3, EO Charging’s latest home vehicle charger. It runs from the 28th June to the 5th August at the high profile Old Street Roundabout location in London.
The creative campaign uses a text message look and feel to reflect a conversation with Big Oil, letting them know ‘our relationship is over.’ Another execution reminds people that EO Charging is power you can trust, unlike Big Oil.
Analysis in 2022 found that Big Oil allocated only 5% of its record profits to renewables, despite claims it is committed to enabling the transition to lower carbon mobility. In light of Big Oil’s lack of honesty, the campaign urges people to break up with them and rid themselves of what is a toxic relationship.
Speaking on the campaign George Edgar, Head of Marketing at EO comments: “EO is working to enable people to charge their electric cars with greater freedom and flexibility, so we’re really excited to be promoting our newest home charger, the Mini Pro 3, with this kind of attention grabbing campaign. We hope that the concept of Breaking up with Big Oil will really capture people’s attention and inspire them along the road to embracing electric mobility.”
Michael Scantlebury, Founder & ECD of Impero adds: “Sometimes you just have to say it how it is. Our relationship with Big Oil is toxic, and we need to end it. EO creates the hardware and software to reduce the reliance on oil, but more importantly, EO has the ambition to communicate the need for change through standout campaigns like this which makes them a brilliant partner to work with.”
