Equipment hire firms are notoriously unreliable, with late delivery being an expected industry norm. Why were people putting up with this? Hewden decided to solve the problem with ‘Core Fleet’, a range of key machines, which are guaranteed, on site, next day. Business retention in this industry is notoriously bad, so we set out to buck this trend- once you tried this product, and it was clear you were no longer being let down, you’d have no reason to look elsewhere.
Our work targeted sugary tea drinking, straight talking contractors, in a no-nonsense style that they would hopefully appreciate. There was no need to dress anything up; this was about a great product put across in an immediate, clear way.
Our ‘Guaranteed to the core’ creative proposition identified with our audience – the feelings of frustration, the headaches and the hassle of switching suppliers. Core Fleet took this all away, and our creative work made that point as clearly as possible.
Bright and impactful design, cheeky headlines that recognised who they were talking to, and copy that didn’t take itself too seriously, all combined in a campaign which sold a great product with a no nonsense, straightforward style.
