FX Digital raise over £1200 for Macmillan Cancer Support after 24-hour gaming marathon
January 22, 2020
On Friday 17th January, FX Digital took part in the Game Heroes challenge. The goal was to continuously broadcast a live gaming stream for 24 hours through Twitch to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, an organisation that supports cancer patients and their families with the social and practical problems of living with cancer.
Stocked up on energy drinks and an array of snacks, the team began streaming at 5.50am on Friday morning. For the main stream, the team decided to play survival horror game Alien: Isolation on PS4, with the view of completing it within the 24 hours.
To ensure everyone had a chance to play, there were a variety of games across platforms on the go - from Wii Sports to Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch, to the latest Call of Duty.
The FX Digital team may not have completed Alien: Isolation, but succeeded in their ultimate goal - streaming for a whole 24 hours. They also smashed their £1,000 target, raising a total of £1,235, the FX Digital team left extremely tired but with their heads held high.
