Eurofighter Typhoon - Responsive website

The Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the world’s most advanced, powerful combat aircraft; the flagship product of Europe’s largest collaborative military programme. 2013 was an important year for the company, as the defence budgets of many nations were under review.
This inspired the decision to invest in their digital presence with Cyber-Duck. Eurofighter required a highly engaging and responsive website to reflect the brand’s prestige, promoting the strength and quality of the aircraft. The new website aimed to become the showpiece of Eurofighter’s stand at the Dubai Airshow, the company’s flagship marketing event; they even had David Cameron present as ambassador. However, this was just 5 weeks after commission, when a typical responsive web design project of this scale and complexity often takes 3 – 4 months.
Cyber-Duck took a lean approach for a successful MVP launch within the tight timeframe. We opted to use Hoisin, a RWD framework developed in-house, instead of an out-of-the-box ‘bloated’ solution; it ensures the website is optimised across devices. Cyber-Duck refined the information architecture and copy, designing a compelling new art direction and used infographics to communicate key statistics about the aircraft. Since launch, users have become far more engaged in comparison to the previous website: 9% of visits result in conversion, and technical reports and magazines have been downloaded over 5,000 times.
