Strother Brings a Wealth of Experience Delivering Cutting-Edge Websites, Apps and Other Digital Solutions to the Denver-Based Independent Agency
Cactus has appointed Deloitte Digital veteran Scott Strother as creative technology director. Scott replaces Andrew Baker, who became the VP, creative technology director for Grit, the sister agency of Cactus.
In the role, Strother will oversee Cactus’s creative technology team, ensuring it fulfills its purpose of enabling agency clients to grow their businesses by staying on the leading edge of user experience design and marketing technology. Additionally, Strother will work to align the team with Cactus’s creative, production and strategy arms to deliver digital solutions steeped in research, consumer insights and brand strategy.
Strother has 20 years of experience in software development and creating compelling, intuitive digital experiences. He has led cross-functional teams to deliver web and mobile services across a wide variety of industries and is passionate about creating applications on the newest platforms. Recent projects included work for Amtrak, McDonald’s, TransAmerica and Republic Services.
Prior to joining Cactus, he worked as a senior engagement manager at Deloitte Digital for seven years. Before that, he was the CTO of A3 Media Network, supplying digital media to mobile carriers’ live and on-demand services.
After several years at a multinational company, Strother is thrilled to have joined a privately owned organization and offered the opportunity to apply his software and development expertise to agency work.
“I had been researching and looking for ways to bring software development and agency work together, and at Cactus, I found everything I was looking for,” Strother said. “I’m excited to pitch in with a new team and integrate marketing technology into new projects.”
“Scott brings senior-level digital leadership, vision and experience working with global brands. He has a long track record of helping large brands to execute complex yet effective digital solutions,” said Norman Shearer, Cactus’s chief creative officer. “Our digital business is exploding, and we needed a strong leader with the skills to nurture and grow business. Scott is the ‘beast mode’ for digital at Cactus. Hiring him was a key investment in our growth.”
