CREATING A NEW BRAND & GUIDELINES FOR A MODERN DAY UNIVERSITY
Brass have been working with the University since 2010 on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate initiatives and have worked closely with them in the lead up to their rebrand from Leeds Metropolitan University to Leeds Beckett University.
OUR CHALLENGE: As part of this project Brass was asked to create a 110 page brand guidelines document which dissected the brand the provided guidance for in-house teams and external third parties to use effectively. This project included redesigning the marque and creating a strapline for the university which articulated the brand and the direction it is taking.
OUR SOLUTION: Following the creation of the new branding assets and guidelines, an opportunity arose to brand a 100ft hoarding at the time of the name change in the heart of the University's most iconic city centre buildings. Leeds Beckett University has been teaching students since 1913 and has been a prominent educational establishment in Leeds ever since. We wanted to tell the story of the University in our unique design. Individual panels of the hoarding spell out Leeds Beckett University, with each letter representing a part of the University's history and story. The Leeds Beckett story will be alive in Leeds City Centre for the coming years.
