Austin will be the agency’s second US office. The in-house team will work with the New York and Leeds offices to continue its commitment to helping businesses expand internationally as a partner in Google’s international growth program.

Search Laboratory was founded in Leeds in 2005 and its first London sales office opened in 2011. The business went Stateside in 2014 with the opening of its New York office. During a challenging year, the business has achieved great success with some big tech sector clients, including UiPath, Kingston, Appian and TollFreeForwarding.com.

The new office will help to establish a more local presence in Texas and offer the agency’s clients even more access to digital marketing expertise.

Head of client services (and proud Texan) Laci Wiggins will head up the new Austin office. Wiggins has worked for Search Laboratory for almost four years, leading on some of its biggest accounts and acting as an influential figure in the New York office.

Austin also provides access to a wider talent pool of prospective employees from the city’s prestigious universities. Wiggins and the team will advertise job openings and offer exciting opportunities for local graduates, starting with the current positions of paid media team lead and US content specialist.

Wiggins said: “Setting up the new Search Laboratory office in Austin was an easy decision to make, placing us right in the middle of the current tech hub and in the perfect place to recruit some of the great talent coming from the universities. As a passionate Texan, I know how exciting it is to be moving to Austin and leading such a great new project for Search Laboratory.”

Texas is home to an abundance of tech companies and enterprise software businesses, becoming a vibrant hub for collaborative work – which is why Search Laboratory saw it as a ripe place for growing its portfolio of existing clients and beyond. By moving to a Central Time Zone, the agency will be able to become more of an international business.

Chris Attewell, chief executive officer of Search Laboratory, added: “When we were looking for a location to open a second US office, Austin ticked all the boxes for us. Proximity to more clients and prospects in the Silicon Hills and beyond meant that the Texas state capital was perfect for us. It also gives us access to a wide pool of employee and graduate talent, allowing us to recruit and develop the best industry candidates, which is hugely important to us.”
