Referral marketing technology business Mention Me has announced two key senior hires to drive its next phase of growth with the appointment of Mark Choueke as marketing director and Natalie Barrie as head of sales.

These strategic appointments build on a year of substantial growth despite the pandemic, including a year-on-year increase of 52% in referral revenue delivered to clients.

In 2021, Mention Me is focusing on expanding its partnership network, the development of a new product, as well as the rollout of the platform’s most recent product, Refer +, which is designed to enable brands to serve highly targeted messages and further nurture brand advocacy.

Choueke brings 16 years’ worth of B2B experience to the role; spanning journalism – having worked as the editor of Marketing Week magazine – through to global senior marketing and consulting roles.

He was instrumental in driving triple-digit growth for SaaS personalisation technology business Qubit and most recently co-founded B2B tech marketing and PR agency Rebeltech. A fast-growth startup and scale-up specialist, Choueke has generated measurable impact for more than 50 B2B tech businesses.

At Mention Me, Choueke will use his experience to transform its marketing function into one fit to scale the business and confirm its position as a category leader in an era where customer-driven growth will become an essential acquisition channel.

Natalie Barrie joins after eight years with global SaaS business Datto, where she led UK customer and partner growth. Managing a team of 30, Barrie was an integral part of the leadership team during the Autotask/Datto acquisition and secured the coveted award of Global Sales Manager of the Year twice for >40% YoY growth.

At Mention Me, Barrie will head up the sales function, leading the team to accelerate across new business revenues.

Mention Me’s market-leading SaaS platform provides brands with the tools to maximise new customer acquisition through referrals and word of mouth. Its bold approach to experimentation, commitment to driving performance and focus on strong client relationships has seen its client base grow from 80 in 2017 to more than 450 today, running referral programmes in 18 languages and multiple currencies.

Andy Cockburn, chief exec and joint founder of Mention Me, comments: “We’re thrilled that Mark and Natalie have joined us to head up our marketing and sales teams, at such a seminal time in our growth.

”Even during the pandemic, Mention Me has managed to over-achieve on our targets, increase revenue and maintain our client base. Mark and Natalie will be instrumental in driving us forward, increasing our brand recognition, revenue and reach as we power the business through the next growth phase.”
