Squarespace has hit up an Aussie bar to create a humorous brand campaign, giving would-be web developers a kick up the backside.

Telling the story of one-time regular ‘Harry’, the tongue-in-cheek piece shows how the website building and hosting services provided by Squarespace are so intuitive that they can be used while propping up the bar.

Intended to inspire people to realize their dreams through the story of a local boy doing good, the advert shows how the move from bar stool to cushions was a simple step for an ‘expert in sitting down’.

Building on previous ‘Everything to sell Anything’ campaigns, the lighthearted spot is the commercial debut of Squarespace’s in-house creative team to show that HTML is nothing to be afraid of.

Squarespace is driving expansion by drawing inspiration from the fashion industry to set itself apart from competitors such as WordPress and GoDaddy.
