In KFC’s latest spot, a suburban woman succumbs to ‘Nuggetmania’ over the chain’s new fried chicken nuggets.

KFC is celebrating the fact that its chicken nuggets have officially become a permanent fixture on menus nationwide with a chaotic new campaign.

According to KFC, the nuggets are hand-breaded, made up of 100% white meat and seasoned with KFC’s original recipe, comprising 11 different herb and spices. Although the brand has previously released similar products, like its Popcorn Chicken, this launch marks the first time KFC’s original recipe has been used on a boneless piece of chicken.

To alert chicken nugget lovers everywhere, the brand released an ad campaign entitled ‘Nuggetmania.’

In the campaign‘s anthem film, a woman and her family chow down on KFC’s new chicken nuggets outside. Suddenly, all kinds of nosy neighbors target them – including a father who lets his grill catch on fire and two young girls whose jump ropes morph into lassos. Even space station crewmembers spy on the woman and her family with a satellite.

The ad also briefly spotlights Starry, PepsiCo’s new lemon-lime flavored soda that replaces Sierra Mist.

The campaign was ideated and developed by creative agency MullenLowe. “The vision was to capture how people would feel when they tried a nugget with real flavor for the first time,” says Enrique Camacho, MullenLowe’s group creative director.

“We go inside this woman's imagination as soon as she takes a bite and realizes the flavor is so good, everyone is going to want them. Lighthearted chaos and slight paranoia demonstrate just how much better these chicken nuggets are than anything else.”
