The fast food chain presented the royal with a special crown on his first official state visit to Berlin, Germany.

Burger King has unveiled its latest guerrilla marketing campaign and this time it involves King Charles III. Creative agency Grabarz & Partner captured the attention of the royal by presenting him with a paper crown, unofficially turning him into an involuntary, but delighted brand ambassador.

The fun stunt began days before, with an open letter on Instagram to the King from the chain, offering him the new crown. This teaser piqued the interest of social media users who couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen on Charles’s visit to Berlin.

Felix Fenz, the chief creative officer at Grabarz & Partner said: “We’re happy King Charles III liked our Burger King Crown as much as we do. This was the craziest influencer stunt we did so far. God save the Burger King.”

Upon being offered the crown, His Majesty was visibly amused chuckling that “he was alright, you can wear them”.

On the campaign, Klaus Schmäing, director of marketing at Burger King Germany added: “For us, being King means being authentic, being tolerant, not taking yourself too seriously. Just be who you are. True to our motto: ‘Have it your way’.”
