Colorful, rippling sound waves enrapture viewers in an ad spotlighting Sonos’ new Era 300 speaker.

A new campaign from multi-room audio brand Sonos shows how certain audio experiences hit listeners from every direction.

In a 55-second spot, titled ‘Feel sound all around,’ a stylish woman returns to her apartment. She takes off her leather jacket and begins playing Fleez by indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs on her Sonos Era 300 speaker, a new spatial audio product that retails for $449 on the brand’s website.

As the woman in the ad breaks out in dance, her surroundings begin to warp and move with her. The camera flies around the room as colorful waveforms emanate from the speaker, allowing the viewer to experience something similar to chromesthesia, a phenomenon that allows certain individuals to experience visual manifestations of music.

The campaign marks the first piece of work 72andSunny has done for Sonos since becoming the brand’s agency of record in November 2022.

The spot was directed by French director and visual artist Quentin Deronzier, through La PAC, who is known for his previous work for Nike Portland and digital commercials for Xbox.
