Online Media Awards return to reward best in global journalism and digital publishing
Entries are now open as we search for the most original, innovative and thought-provoking work from journalists and media owners worldwide.
Who will take home the trophies at The Drum Awards for Online Media 2023?
The Drum Awards for Online Media are back for 2023 to recognize the very best work, companies and people in the global publishing and media business.
Open now for editorial, publishing and commercial teams within media brands big and small worldwide, categories include Media Brand of the Year, Editorial Innovation of the Year and Editorial Team of the Year.
This year’s entries will be judged by a stellar jury of editors and publishing leaders from the likes of NBCUniversal, Hearst, News UK and HuffPost.
Cameron Clarke, editor of The Drum, said: “As a journalist, these awards are close to my heart. The media business is under scrutiny like never before and in today’s age of information – and often misinformation – overload, it’s right that we champion the standard-bearers of great, trusted journalism.
“That means recognizing outstanding storytellers but also rewarding the innovators finding new paths to get their stories in front of readers and viewers. I’m excited to see not only great examples of editorial campaigning, but also the ingenious ways media brands big and small are making this vital work hit home.”
Entrants will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous recipients of the awards including the New York Times, BBC, India Times and Reuters.
Last year’s big winners included Al Jazeera, which took home the Grand Prix for its clever campaign shining a much-needed spotlight on inaccessible cities, and Sky News, which won the Chair’s Award for its extensive coverage of the climate crisis.
To emulate their success, you can enter now at the Online Media Awards website. Entries close on Thursday April 6 and more details on the awards results ceremony will follow soon.
