US Ad of the Day: Eggo to give 1,000 parents a free sitter on Daylight Saving Sunday
Eggo is ready to give tired parents everywhere some reprieve on the day they need it most: March 12, when everyone loses an hour of sleep.

Like it or not, the annual ritual of changing our clocks to daylight saving time is coming on Sunday, March 12.
Kellogg’s frozen waffle brand Eggo wants parents of young children to “l’eggo” of their dread that morning by serving up a sweepstake that will offer 1,000 winners $100 to hire a babysitter and get some much-needed rest.

The campaign comes after an Eggo-commissioned study found that 53% of US parents say they would rather pay $100 than watch their kids that morning.
Eggo seems to have extra sympathy for parents on this day. Last year, the brand gave away 1m waffles to help stressed-out moms and dads get a leisurely breakfast ready for their kids.

“Daylight Saving Time is exhausting for parents. The clocks are set forward an hour, kids wake up extra early, and parents have no time to recover,“ Eggo’s marketing director Joe Beauprez said in a statement.
“We heard from parents that 86% wish they could sleep in on Daylight Saving Sunday, so we’re coming to the rescue to help parents do just that by providing them a chance to win money they can put toward the cost of a morning sitter, so they can L’Eggo of the Daylight Saving madness.“
