Ogilvy Italy marks one year of conflict in Ukraine with this cinematic ad
The ad is for the humanitarian aid organization Emergency and questions the kind of peace that people long for.
‘A Day of Peace’ follows a man who is the sole survivor of an apparent nuclear conflict. As he walks a lonely road, trying to find other humans, viewers take in the dire situation he finds himself in. Scavenging derelict buildings, the protagonist has to find food and shelter to survive, until the sun sets in preparation for another day of solitude.
Music for the film was written and composed by Enzo Casucci, with lyrics a collaborative effort between the musician and Ogilvy Italy's executive creative director Lavinia Francia.
“Men must eliminate war from history, or war will eliminate men from history,” said Emergency’s founder Gino Strada. “With this film, Emergency and Ogilvy want to remind us that in order to avoid this kind of peace, the only way is to abolish war, once and for all.”
The campaign comes exactly one year since Russia Invaded Ukraine, leaving thousands dead and millions displaced.

“It is a great pleasure for us to help Emergency pursue such a great ideal that unites us all. This collaboration has been giving birth to many projects that made us proud, allowed us to experiment with different languages and stories, and this time we’re happy to release this short film for a great cause.”
