Finding judges for the Chip Shop Awards was no easy feat. We needed a mighty panel who can take the heat when the fryers are popping off. And that’s exactly who we found for 2023.

What a beautiful bunch

This year, our judges are made up of creatives from all over the world, from Lima to London. Between them they could fill a room with their awards and accolades. Here they are in all their glory, looking like The Brady Bunch. Our very own The Brainy Bunch. They’re some of the most creative people in the industry and it’s an honor to have them judging this year’s Chip Shop Awards.

On that note, I’d like you to put your hands together, whoop and holler, for our 2023 judging panel.

Sarah Lefkowith - creative director, Creature London

From LA to NYC to London, Sarah has vast experience both side of the Atlantic. She’s worked with the likes of EasyJet, This Girl Can, and BMW, and collected Campaign Magazine's 30 Future Creative Leaders, a few Lions, and some Pencils along the way.

Saj Nazir - senior vice president media creativity, Mediahub's Radical + Disruptive Lab

Saj knows a thing or two about what winning work looks like. He’s delivered award-winning solutions to a range of UK media owners and agencies. He believes creativity and innovation help us make memorable connections. I couldn’t agree more.

Marcela Angeles - group creative director, Media.Monks

Storyteller. Writer. Documentary photographer. Human rights activist. Is there anything Marcela can’t do? She currently heads up Media.Monks Mexico, working with big brands like Spotify, Mitsubishi, Samsung, KFC and Amazon.

Yoky Pandowo - associate creative director, Octagon APAC

Yoky is a creative whiz in the sports and entertainment space. He has more than 12 years of experience at agencies like BBH, Wunderman Thompson and FCB, and has picked up a handful of awards on his journey, including a The Drum award.

Ann Wixley - executive creative director, Wavemaker

Ann is a creator and director with several years’ experience in advertising and media. This also isn’t her first judging rodeo. She was a juror on the 2022 UK Young Lions panel, so she knows exactly what she’s looking for here.

Matt Murray-Cox - head of design, Revere

Matt is bringing over 14 years’ industry experience to the panel, as well as an eye for considered, powerful and refined creative ideas. He’s worked in B2B and B2C sectors for clients such as Avanade, Sitecore and PepsiCo.

Nikki Cunningham - managing director, Curious

MD of an award-winning creative brand agency, need I say more? Nikki works with clients like AB InBev, AEG and Aviva through their toughest challenges and now she’s ready for the challenge of judging Chip Shop.

Mark Elwood - executive creative director, Leo Burnett

Starting as typographer, Mark now oversees projects for big brands like Kelloggs, McDonald’s, Premier Inn, and Skoda. He lives and breathes creativity and awards shows like Chip Shop are the icing on the cake.

Mia Patrevito - senior designer, BASIC/DEPT

From building her portfolio with brands like SoulCycle, Olaplex and Subway (all my favorite things), Mia now crafts digital experiences at BASIC/DEPT in New York. With a keen eye for visual design she’s excited to see what you lot bring to the table.

Jhona Gibson - creative director, VMLY&R Lima

Jhona isn’t shy of award shows - his work has been recognized in the best creative festivals like Cannes Lions, One Show, New York Festivals, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, Effies, and more – and he certainly won’t be shy on this judging panel.

Miriam Franklin - executive vice president, head of integrated production, Deutsch NY

It would be completely idiotic of us to not have Miriam on the panel. She’s a powerhouse VP who has produced work all over the world, in every category and across every medium. Her clients include Reebok, State Farm, and Apple Music.

Neale Horrigan - executive creative director, Elvis

Not only does Neale head up one of the most awarded creative agencies in the UK, but he’s been a part of huge multi-award-winning campaigns for Creme Egg and LADbible. Now he's ready for some Chip Shop action.

Matt Ford - managing director, Cowshed Collective

The brain behind Unilad and 4 Studio at Channel 4, Matt will be bringing significant commercial experience to the table. Whatever commercial ads and campaigns you’ve got up your sleeve, Matt can’t wait to see them all.

Patrick Miciano - managing partner (strategy & creative), OLIVER Asia Pacific

Even though he’s a self-proclaimed lover of power naps (and unfortunately Hawaiian pizza), it doesn’t stop Pat from leading the way with creative and strategy at Oliver Asia Pacific. We’ll be welcoming his creative energy to our 2023 panel.

Grace Lerner Sharfstein - group creative director, global marketing, GroupM

Grace has over 20 years’ experience in NYC as an art director, graphic designer and experiential creative director. She’s a creative genius with award-winning work across the entire media ecosystem including, television, print, digital, OOH, and more.

To all of our judges, welcome to the Chip Shop Awards judging panel 2023. I hope you feel very powerful right now. I know I would.

To everyone else, you can see their judges profiles here.

And if you want to have your work seen by these incredible creatives, now’s your chance. Enter your work into the Chip Shop Awards today or tomorrow, or even next week. But no later than April 6, or you’ll be too late and that would be worse than having a chippie tea with no salt and vinegar.
