Ad of the Day: NFL cornerback Jalen Ramsey interviews himself in film for Gucci
The spot, directed by Ebeneza Blanche, is in collaboration with GQ magazine.
Luxury Italian fashion house Gucci has released a short film starring football superstar Jalen Ramsey, detailing key moments in his life that led him to a career in the NFL.
In ‘A Hero‘s Journey: Jalen Ramsey,‘ viewers see the LA Rams player take on the role of host and guest in a talk show-style interview.

Throughout the spot, intimate details of his life are contrasted with the roaring sounds of a crowd and the noise of news reports in the background. The styling and retro designs of each scene pay homage to Ramsey’s youth.
“Shooting a film for Gucci has always been an aspiration of mine and for this to have become a reality really is a dream come true,” said director Ebeneza Blanche, a filmmaker whose body of work includes music videos for the likes of Little Simz and Skepta. “I’m also grateful to have gained a lot of insight into a sport I knew little about before working on this project. I can now proudly call myself a Rams fan.”
