FanDuel is bringing back 80s-style training montages as NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski trains for his impending, critical Super Bowl moment with kicker Adam Vinatieri.

Anyone who has watched the Rocky film franchise will know what FanDuel is alluding to in its latest spot.

The Sports betting platform today released ’Training,’ a film that follows Rob Gronkowski as he prepares for his live televised field goal attempt during Super Bowl LVII – with help from no other than legendary NFL kicker Adam Vinatieri. To make it more entertaining, the film is shot in the distinctive style of an 80s training montage, replete with synthesizers, dramatic dialogue and plenty of sweat.

The Wieden+Kennedy-produced spot marks the second creative round in FanDuel’s ’Kick of destiny,’ a first-of-its-kind campaign that plays off Vinatieri’s 24 years of experience and four Super Bowl victories as well as Gronk’s dedication to athleticism. If Gronk makes the kick, FanDuel will be offering any FanDuel user who placed a bet on the big game the chance to win a portion of $10m in free bets.

FanDuel introduced the campaign earlier this month with ’The Agent’, in which Gronk finds out about his return to football for the Super Bowl – this time as a kicker. The integrated campaign will follow the story arch of Gronk’s journey throughout the NFL playoffs through to Super Bowl Sunday.
