Performance Art, VMLY&R Commerce and Rethink win big at The Drum Awards Grand Finale

Performance Art has won the Grand Prix of Grand Prix while VMLY&R Commerce has been named Network Agency of the Year and Rethink has been named Independent Agency of the Year 2022 at The Drum Awards Festival Grand Finale.

Performance Art wins the Grand Prix of Grand Prix with The Black Elevation Map

Throughout 2022 we have seen many amazing agencies win big at The Drum Awards and on Friday December 6, at The Drum Labs in Shoreditch, we crowned the best of the best.

The Grand Prix of Grand Prix is decided by our jury chairs from the top winner from each of The Drum Awards shows. This year, coming out on top is Performance Art for its work with Black and Abroad on The Black Elevation Map.

This campaign won at The Drum Awards for Digital Industries and is an immersive and engaging digital map that displays African American cultural data points and landmarks across the United States.

Judges said: ”What we loved about this work is its innovative use of digital. It has had such a great impact and had been transformational and educational in a cultural way. It demonstrated a good understanding of the audience and felt fresh as an idea. We really like the fact it connected both with the audience and back into the community. It was very engaging and demonstrated strong results.”

Meanwhile, VMLY&R Commerce has been named Network Agency of the year and Canadian agency Rethink was revealed as Independent Agency of the Year at The Drum Award's Festival. The process for deciding the Agency of the Year saw nominees determined primarily on the number of wins they achieved across The Drum’s events in 2022.

Rethink took the first top spot after winning numerous awards across a number of shows this year, for campaigns including the work for The Lost Tapes Of The 27 Club. And VMLY&R snapped up Network Agency of the Year for work with clients including Pizza Hut, Nature Valley and Corona.
