The Thai Health Promotion Foundation has taken to outer space in a bid to generate awareness of the country’s dangerous levels of sodium intake.

The hilarious Public Service Announcement, created by Leo Burnett Bangkok, features a group of space travellers in the year 2047 who are on a journey to find a new world.

Along the way, the group overcome alien attacks, meteorite strikes and solar storms thanks to their exceptional spaceship and a generous supply of instant and frozen food. However, when the travellers finally reach their destination, they have all mysteriously passed away.

The Thai Health Promotion Foundation is hoping the ‘dark mystery’ of the travellers deaths will help raise awareness about the high levels of sodium in instant and frozen foods, which are extremely popular in the country.

The ‘New World’ campaign aims to educate Thais about sodium levels in their diets and their impact on health. The ad warns that the more you eat, the more sodium you store, and the more you risk your life from potentially life-threatening diseases.
