Paddy Power has found its voice with a full-throated operatic re-enactment of classic terrace chants, complete with a 40-strong orchestra.

Migrating the sounds of the stadium to the theater, the Christmas charity album brings foot-stomping chants such as Enger-land, Enger-land, Enger-land, VAR My Lord and Super Jacky Grealish to life like you’ve never heard them before ahead of the World Cup.

Delivered by St Mark’s Studios, the production arm of Taylor Herring, the cheeky takeover of the New Wimbledon Theatre is led by former England star and Paddy Power veteran Peter Crouch, with a guest appearance from Britain’s Got Talent phenomenon Paul Potts.

Crouch said: “We’ve taken the best terrace chants and sprinkled a bit of festive magic on them. With Paddy Power’s bankroll and the people’s support, we’d hope a Christmas Top 10 album is coming home.”

Mindful of the controversies swirling around the World Cup and the pitfalls awaiting unwary brands, Paddy Power will donate a minimum of £25k to LGBTQ+ support charity Stonewall in addition to 100% of all profits.

Michelle Spillane, marketing and brand director for Paddy Power, added: “We wanted to create the ultimate soundtrack for football fans to mark this unforgettable occasion. Plus, the terrace chants we’ve all come to know and love were in dire need of an upgrade! But ultimately, we’re calling on fans to get behind this album because 100% of profits go to Stonewall – a partnership we’re extraordinarily proud of.”

Crouchy Conducts The Classics is available to download on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music, and is supported by a TV campaign, live events and social media.

Paddy Power is embracing a Christmas like no other by bringing its irreverence to bear on an unseasonal collision of sport and holidays.
