What better way to celebrate the return of the global quadrennial tournament than by watching pro soccer players go head-to-head at the foosball table?

Light beer brand Michelob Ultra is prompting fans to make joy a ‘goal’ this Fifa World Cup.

The brand with the ‘It’s only worth it if you enjoy it’ tagline today launched a new television commercial ‘Foosball match,’ which sports a cast any soccer enthusiast will recognize: American midfielder Christian Pusilic, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd and Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.

In the 30-second spot, the all-star trio congregates in a sports bar. Pusilic and Lloyd take to the foosball table for a high-stakes match. Amid the frenetic gameplay, the ball suddenly goes rogue, only to be caught by Ochoa’s expert goalie reflexes. “I’m up next,” Ochoa coyly says in his native tongue.

In addition to the ad, Michelob enlisted streetwear mogul Guillermo Andrade to design a limited-edition World Cup jersey for consumers, available on shopbeergear.com. The jersey’s long-sleeve style mimics those of vintage soccer knits loved by fans of all generations and includes the number 22 to represent this year’s World Cup.
