Farrow & Ball has embraced the power of film to introduce a range of 11 new on-trend hues to budding home improvers this autumn.

Collaborating with creative agency BMB, the paint and wallpaper brand has brought a new dimension to the traditional color card by putting its shades in motion, illustrating how the choice of shades such as Templeton Pink or Wine Dark can transform the appearance of any room.

The artistic approach sees a drop of the chosen color interact with a base paint to cause a stir, showcasing each new color in a billowing display of fluid dynamics. This explosion of drips, drops, swirls and splashes is then contrasted with the stillness of each color when applied to the home.

Joa Studholme, color curator for Farrow & Ball and co-creator of the 11 shades, said: “Our relationship with our home has changed so much over the last few years, it felt like the perfect time to introduce these new colors. We all feel ready to show off our spaces and personal style. Our palette is made even more relevant through the introduction of these gentle lights and dramatic and atmospheric darks.”

Matt Lever, chief creative officer at BMB, added: “Farrow & Ball paint is already stunning in its own right. We wanted to hero the new colors with a tactile, intriguing campaign that delves into the paint production process to create playful, pleasingly abstract and mesmerizing visuals that evoke the feelings these beautiful new shades elicit.”

Seven colors have been chosen for film treatment, shown as part of a multimedia campaign that includes social films, print and DOOH across the UK, US, France and Germany.
