Hasbro aims to introduce its 40-year-old franchise to younger generations through a new Netflix series and an explorable virtual universe.

My Little Pony continues to remain relevant to generation after generation by meeting them where they’re at. Today, the iconic franchise makes its metaverse debut in the child-friendly gaming platform Roblox with ’Visit Maretime Bay’.

’Visit Maretime Bay’ brings to life the fictional world of the brand’s new Netflix series, My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, which premiered on September 26. Self-expression remains at the heart of both the Netflix series and virtual world, where parents and their young children can create their own pony avatars and explore a child-safe world, replete with sites and characters from the show. To make Maretime Bay even more real for consumers, the brand has partnered with Tripadvisor to list it as a real vacation destination.

“My Little Pony is among the most storied and beloved brands, and in its almost 40-year history our commitment to friendship, inclusion and self-expression hasn’t wavered,” says Jessica Murphy, senior vice-president of entertainment brand marketing at Entertainment One. “We’re proud to build upon this legacy with a new generation of ponies that were designed for today’s kids to empower them with these values.”

The Roblox activation was developed by Hasbro’s in-house studio Entertainment One and Media.Monks.

My Little Pony: Make Your Mark marks the franchise’s second animated show, the first being My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which debuted in 2010.
