Adidas has released an anime celebration of Spanish football legends Real Madrid.

Taking inspiration from Japanese anime, Adidas has created a short film to pay tribute to Spanish football club Real Madrid and its 120 year-long legacy.

‘Odyssée Grandeza’ features three teenagers who are transported to another dimension and find themselves playing a match in Santiago Bernabéu stadium against dark supernatural forces.

As the bad vibes ensue, the youngsters must call on French striker Karim Benzema for help. English-speaking viewers are encouraged to watch with subtitles to follow the story closely.

Drawing on inspiration from traditional manga animation styles, eagle-eyed watchers will also be quick to notice many of the club’s historical moments, goals, and jerseys throughout the ad. It’s one for the fans and hopes to show how epic the ‘grandeza’ (greatness) spirit is among them.
