Just what you never knew you wanted or needed: the ultimate ‘cereal’ for those who can’t get enough sugar.

From chocolate to marshmallows, lots of cereals on grocery shelves today can be considered candy in disguise. Embracing this phenomenon, Trolli today released ‘Oops! It’s a Box of Worms’ – a five-pound box of sour gummi worms packaged in a cereal box.

The brand aims to gift the candy boxes to some of its biggest fans and cereal experts to review through an exclusive influencer promotion. “It’s been said that the early bird gets the worm and breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not get your day started (or end your night) with a deliciously dark, new cereal-that-is-not-a-cereal Oops! It’s a Box of Worms?” said Trolli marketing director Dave Foldes. “With this work, we hope our worms’ silly attempt to be eaten late night or early morning actually works out and our brand fans get a kick out of the exclusive gift.”

To spread awareness about the promotion, Trolli has unveiled a 30-second claymation film on its Instagram account. The film, created by a stop-motion filmmaker who goes by @azxd on Instagram, tells the story of two late-night gamers who discover a box of Trolli’s Oops! It’s a Box of Worms on their kitchen table. Trolli’s mascot worm is then joined by a choir of other gummi worms as they inform the confused gamers about this 4am snack disguised as a box of cereal – through song.

The box was designed by Venezuelan-American art director Oscar Bastidas, who has previously worked on brand design for McDonald’s, Nickelodeon and other clients.
