Budweiser is amping up football fans with a star-studded spot that sees Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Raheem Sterling promote the Fifa World Cup tournament.

‘The World Is Yours To Take’ sees the football legends lead a group of animated fans down the player tunnels and on to the pitch. The excited group dances, struts and walks down the passageway while holding flags from various countries and groups, including the rainbow-hued Pride flag.

Soundtracked by pop anthem Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears, the short film hopes to capture the excitement felt in the run-up to the tournament.

“As sponsor of the Fifa World Cup for more than 30 years, we wanted to capture the infectious global energy of football fans everywhere to encourage people to find the conviction to go for greatness, no matter what the journey to get there might look like,” said Todd Allen, global vice-president of marketing at Budweiser.

“Determination to overcome challenges in the name of achieving greatness, like we’ve seen countless times from Messi, Neymar Jr and Sterling, is an inspiration to us and to fans around the world. We hope our new campaign reminds fans that no matter what stands in your way, the world is yours to take.”

In addition to the campaign, fans will have the chance to win match tickets by scanning QR codes found on limited-edition Budweiser bottles and cans.
