Starbucks celebrates how ‘every table has a story’
Starbucks is positioning itself as a ‘Third Place’ where all are welcome to work, reset, connect and further their passions in its latest campaign.
The integrated brand campaign made by Iris – titled ‘Every Table Has a Story’ – features a 60-second film showcasing the life of aspiring creative entrepreneur Kay. She weathers the lows of rejections and highs of making it on her own and being featured as the next big designer in a magazine – all from the same table at her local Starbucks.
The campaign embraces newfound flexibility, spotlighting the renaissance in working from coffee shops and celebrating the journeys of enterprising individuals who were already furthering their passions at Starbucks.
The film will run as 20-, 30- and 60-second ads across cinema, broadcaster VOD, online video, socials and owned channels, including in-store. It will further highlight the journey of individuals, from graphic designer Ibby to activist Kate.
Iris worked closely with production company Sweetshop Films to produce the campaign. Media buying is handled by Havas Media, with PR support from Edelman.
Eli Vasiliou, group creative director at Iris, said: “Starbucks’s mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit, one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time. The work we’ve created over the last five years has brought meaning to this ambition. This campaign is no exception. At every table, in every store, real life is playing out. Through a cinematic lens, we’ve told the small but powerful story of one inspirational woman, leaving behind a legacy that demonstrates the emotional punch of creative storytelling.”
