O2 has shown off the next iteration of its Bubl the robot mascot as it reveals customers can swap their mobile whenever they want, as often as they want, without incurring any costs.

O2 Switch Up migrates all customers to the telecoms provider’s Plus Plans at no cost, furnishing everyone with a non-restrictive contract with greater flexibility for upgrading their phone whenever the fancy takes.

‘Switch-up-to-new when it suits you’ by VCCP London depicts the world through Bubl’s eyes as the cute robot wanders in a park. It tracks an O2 customer ready to ‘Switch Up’ her mobile with its Bubl vision, before digging out a shiny new phone from an internal compartment.

Simon Valcarcel, marketing director at Virgin Media O2, said: “O2 Switch Up gives our customers the power to decide what phone they have and when they have it, all on their terms and with the peace of mind that their previous phone won’t go to waste.”

Laura Muse, creative director at VCCP London, added: “Life changes at an insane rate these days, so being free to find a phone that suits you is brilliant. O2 is really looking out for everyone. And there’s no better way to show that than seeing the world through our clever and lovable Bubl’s eyes.”

Dovetailing with O2‘s Roam Freely campaign, the activity will span VOD, cinema, OLV, social, out-of-home (OOH), radio and Twitch until the end of October.
