HelloFresh has casted beloved Hollywood couple David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris to show how easy its meal kits are to make – if you have a pan lying around.

Chef David Burtka and HelloFresh have made cooking dinner so easy that even his husband Neil Patrick Harris can do it, as seen in the meal kit company’s latest ad spot.

In the spot, Patrick Harris is tasked with the challenge of cooking dinner without the help of his husband, chef Burtka. “No sweat,” the How I Met Your Mother star jokes, before struggling with the very first step: selecting a pan. He asks: “How am I supposed to cook it without the ingredients?” Burtka replies: “Everything you need is in the box.”

The campaign highlights several limited-edition meal kits that will be available to order today through September 4 as some of HelloFresh’s ‘Premium Picks’ menu options. Burtka developed each dish by incorporating elements of recipes from his own cookbook Life is a Party, and flavor profiles enjoyed by himself, Patrick Harris and their two kids, Gideon and Harper.

HelloFresh delivers meal kits including ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions to consumers’ doorsteps. The company, which bills itself as the first meal-kit company to offer carbon-neutral meal kits, reports offering over 55 different meal options every week and operating in over 17 international markets. “Whether we’re planning dinner for the twins or entertaining friends, HelloFresh has something for everyone, any night of the week, no matter how busy our schedules are,” Burtka said in a statement.

“HelloFresh is designed to make cooking at home easy and fun ... for busy families and couples like Neil and David, who value spending quality time together over a home-cooked meal, but don’t always have a ton of time to meal plan and grocery shop,” chief marketing officer and managing director at HelloFresh US Jens Reich told The Drum. “This campaign provides a glimpse into Neil and David’s home life while illustrating just how fun and convenient it is to cook a delicious meal with HelloFresh.”

In addition to the recipe series, consumers can expect to see vlog-style content from Patrick Harris, Burtka and their kids across streaming TV, linear TV, social media and more. It was created by HelloFresh’s in-house creative team, produced by D’Marie Productions and directed by Kirk Larsen.
