Ad of the Day: Mattel collaborates with Takashi Murakami on playful Uno cards

Uno has enlisted renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to collaborate on a contemporary brightly-colored set of playing cards.

Blurring the lines between ‘high’ and ‘low’ art, Murakami has brought his signature style to the Mattel-owned brand’s fifth artist series. Using a combination of familiar characters and playful iconography, the cards feature smiling flowers, pandas and the famous Mr DOB.

To mark the launch, Mattel has re-imagined the deck of cards as artwork hanging in a museum, with miniature figurines of people taking in their surroundings.
