Booking.com is dispelling the last vestiges of lockdown gloom with an uplifting campaign that is sure to put a smile on the face of anyone hankering after sun, sea and sand.

The online travel agency is introducing prospective vacationers to a summer of ‘yeah’ by announcing a range of weekend getaways at ‘Smiley Stays’ across the US including a glamping retreat, a yacht experience and a beachfront break.

The upbeat campaign is born out of a Booking.com survey indicating that 76% of travelers choose to jet off to banish the blues, with Booking.com stepping up to the plate with a variety of smile-inducing getaways at exotic locations nationwide from Miami Beach to New York City.

To guarantee a good time, the travel agent is offering a smiley concierge for several lucky guests for the duration of their break, cracking a smile from even the dourest visage.

Concierge in chief Idris Elba, the star of Booking.com’s Summer of ‘Yeah’ campaign, said: “Now that travel is picking back up again, I’m looking forward to getting back out there. I’ve always traveled extensively for work, but making time for a vacation for my happiness and wellbeing is a whole different experience. Even a short getaway to reset mentally and physically makes an impact, which is why I love Booking.com – they make it so easy to find and book any type of stay you want.”

Booking.com established that travelers are raring to go after two years of being stuck at home, with a summer of bucket list-ticking fun being the number one priority for 61% of US holidaymakers.
