McDonald’s gets straight to the point with a celebrity-backed rewards program

A host of celebrities, including YouTuber Yung Filly, are plugging MyMcDonald’s by dishing out free merchandise such as branded bucket hats, bags and water bottles during a nationwide tour. The fast food chain is also giving away 5m points during its regional roadshow, which can be redeemed for menu treats using the McDonald’s app from today.

Audiences will be brought up to speed with what is on offer via a series of events, including a gig by grime artist Aitch in Manchester and a lower-key stunt in London in which Yung Filly handed out freebie desserts to Londoners from a McFlurry van.

Claude Abi-Gerges, McDonald’s franchisee manager, said: “I am so pleased to see MyMcDonald’s Rewards launch in London, and I know our customers will love earning and enjoying rewards on some of their favorite menu items. It was great to have Yung Filly here to help us launch it. The team from my restaurants was delighted to chat with him and give out so much merch.

“Customers can also donate their points to one of three amazing charity partners. Enabling our customers to give back to the communities we serve is so important, and we know many local families will benefit from the points donated in this region.”

The tour will culminate with a visit to Birmingham on July 28, where social media personality LadBaby will be in attendance to offer customers a drive-through experience like no other.

MyMcDonald’s Rewards aims to mold consumer behaviors by creating a more personalized dining experience.
