Seagram’s 7 and Iliza Shlesinger celebrate National Dive Bar Day

Today is National Dive Bar Day. To raise a glass to these great, dark and dingy American mainstays, Seagram’s 7 has partnered with award-winning comedian Iliza Shlesinger for the 'Regulars’ Rules.'

Never hog the pool table and always tip your bartender. These are just a few of the 'Regulars' Rules' that Seagram’s 7 Crown American Blended Whiskey and comedian Iliza Shlesinger are celebrating on National Dive Bar Day.

The crux of this celebration is the 'Regulars’ Rules' sweepstakes, which will award seven lucky winners with $700 checks (or just enough to buy a round for everyone).

Starting today and running for the next 700 hours, anyone of legal drinking age can enter the sweepstakes via Seagrams’ website and submit their “dive bar do’s and don’ts,” or unspoken rules that every bar crawler knows.

The submission prompt is slated to change every 100 hours, granting each participant seven chances to win.

The campaign marks the second National Dive Bar Day that the American whiskey brand has partnered with Shlesinger. Last year, the comedian fronted Seagram’s 'Keep the Dive Alive' campaign. This time, Shlesinger will divulge her own dive bar dos and don’ts on her Instagram. “I did some of my first stand-up gigs at dive bars, so this mission is close to my heart,” Shlesinger said in a statement.

To show support for independent dive bars — which have taken a hit throughout the Covid-19 pandemic — Seagram’s 7 will donate $7 for every entry to Main Street Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting small businesses.

“Since our brand’s beginning, dive bars and their regulars have been the unsung heroes of American drinking culture. They’ve served as the home of epic pool tables and classic jukebox songs while also being places where people gather to connect,” Diageo's senior brand manager of Irish and North American whiskeys Dina Kranich said in a statement.

“We created National Dive Bar Day as a moment to recognize and celebrate these establishments as they are a staple to so many local communities. We hope the sweepstakes this year gets fans as excited as we raise a glass to dive bars and their patrons around the country while reminiscing on the experiences and memories that make them so special.”
