Ad of the Day: McDonald’s devises digital scavenger hunt to promo limited-edition sauces
McDonald’s Australia has teamed up with creative agency partner DDB Sydney to launch a fun campaign titled ‘Sauce Quest.’
A selection of six super-exclusive dips, including Cajun and Szechuan flavors, will be limited to around 100 per restaurant. Knowing that they would likely run out quickly, the fast-food chain has devised a quest so difficult that only the ‘true sauce lovers’ will be able to complete it.
The digital scavenger hunt begins on the Golden Arches website with clue number one: search for a saucy product from an iconic Australian brand that rhymes with Fudgy Juggler.
From there, participants must follow the trail of splatters, cast over far-flung digital realms, to reach the saucey end. Winners may claim a giant secret stash of Szechuan or Cajun sauce before they hit restaurants.
