For the first time The Drum Show is coming to you live at 1PM GMT - on thedrum.com, on LinkedIn, and our YouTube channel. Join The Drum’s editor-in-chief Gordon Young and a panel of expert guests to discuss the most pressing marketing news of the week - live, as it happens, from our studio in London.

This week The Drum Show is highlighting the best creative work from outside of the capital. Following The Drum Roses Awards in Manchester earlier this week, the panel will pore over the winning entries to find out which trends and techniques elevated the winners above the rest of the entries.

Gordon is joined by Peter Czapp, co-founder of the Wow Company - an accountancy practice that has been benchmarking agencies for over a decade - and Meg Price of Be The Fox, who chaired this year’s Roses Awards.

The trends this year included a focus on humour to spread a marketing message - especially vital this year. However, accurate and reliable information is at a premium, and the winning entry from the Medaille Trust for its campaign against modern slavery made its points concisely and with empathy.

Another trend that the industry seems to be gradually overcoming is that of the overinvestment in London - and the price anchoring that comes with it. The Wow Company’s research demonstrates that despite the regional agencies creating wonderful work they charge significantly less than London agencies. However, Covid seems to have diminished the London price premium.

In addition to the Roses roundup, the show will also feature The Drum’s reporter Hannah Bowler taking us through the three most important marketing stories of the week - in under three minutes.

Watch The Drum Show live on thedrum.com, on LinkedIn, and our YouTube channel.
