Debut Hotels.com campaign from W+K takes the style of dating app profiles

A new campaign from Hotels.com aims to redefine the travel brand as a hotel matchmaker rather than a directory.

‘Find Your Perfect Somewhere’ is the debut spot from new creative agency Wieden+Kennedy Portland, and emphasizes how the brand helps match all travelers with their perfect destination.

The campaign is comprised of three separate spots, with a family beach resort, a boutique hotel and business accommodation telling travelers about themselves and describing their ideal guests in the manner of an online dating profile.

“Hotels.com’s new creative platform was designed to convey the idea that what’s perfect for some might not necessarily be what’s perfect for you. And we’re here to make that perfect match happen,” said Hector Muelas, senior vice-president of global creative at Expedia Group.

“Just as every traveler is unique, every property has its own personality too. Hotels are about both tangibles and intangibles – the details that make a stay perfect for you.”

The ad series made its TV premiere during the Uefa Champions League Final as part of Hotels.com’s travel sponsorship with the league. Amplification will also come from out-of-home (OOH), digital audio, digital video, traditional radio, TV, cinema, programmatic and paid social.
