Jurassic Park’s famous jeeps are stealing the limelight from everyone’s favorite dinosaurs in a new commercial to tie in with the latest franchise entry.

Jurassic World Dominion throws out the gas-guzzling Jeep Wrangler in favor of an all-electric model, with a baby Carnotaurus brought along for the ride to show off its feature set.

The customized Jeep Wrangler 4xe is shown complete with an amber gear knob navigating off-road past some prehistoric wildlife, driven by a naive Jeep owner who daydreams of rearing a baby dinosaur.

The tongue-in-cheek commercial imagines a world in which dinosaurs walk among us – and the practical pitfalls of integrating apex predators within a suburban society.

Conceived by independent ad agency Highdive, the cautionary tale urges animal lovers not to bite off more than they can chew – less your pet bite off you.

Christian Meunier, Jeep brand chief executive officer, said: “The Jeep brand has substantially expanded in the three decades since the first appearance of the Wrangler in the original Jurassic Park film. With the rollout of our 4xe electrified portfolio that includes the Wrangler 4xe, the Jeep brand is developing the most capable and sustainable 4×4 vehicles in the world, satisfying the needs of our expanding global Jeep community.”

Launching across social media and TV, the campaign will capitalize on hype surrounding the film ahead of its release on Friday across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Jeep is no stranger to the big screen, having previously sponsored Batman v Superman.
