As Russia invaded, Ukrainian creative agency Banda made a hard-hitting short film highlighting the devastating impact on the country. Two weeks on, the Kyiv-based agency has released a follow-up video on its social media channels.

Coming directly from the war zone, the #StandWithUkraine reel called on the international community for support by sharing its message of hope far and wide.

In a new film, the team has shared this note on LinkedIn: “We are the people of Ukraine, and we thank you, World.”

As it begins, viewers see footage of army tanks as the voiceover states: “When our closest neighbors tank us, we tell our other neighbors thank you.” The slide-show-style film then goes on to highlight notable figures Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher for their monetary donations, Berlin for its demonstrations and Polish moms for donating strollers.

With the war raging on, many organizations have pressed pause on Russian operations – including McDonald’s, Netflix and P&G – although some have been criticized for being slow with these decisions.

According to a recent YouGov report that surveyed the UK’s consumer attitudes towards brands’ stances on Russia, half of Brits are more likely to buy from a brand that has ceased business in Russia and two in five would boycott a brand based on its Russian business.
