UNFSS is working with Green Park to raise awareness on gender equality through women’s economic empowerment, which is an anchor toward UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 – gender equality.

Green Park hopes to give back to the community and create a social impact among the organization and employees.

The agency intends to do this through three pillars: Create for Good, Donate for Good and Inspire for Good. Create for Good aims to harness their talents to create content for a good cause, Donate for Good aims to pool their material resources through donation drives or volunteering time, and Inspire for Good aims to share its expertise in search engine optimization (SEO), tech and content through workshops and webinars.

“UNFSS looks forward to heightening its goal of bridging gaps and informing the global community on what we can do to improve gender equality through VSS (voluntary sustainability standards) and international trade,” said Santiago Fernandez de Cordoba, senior economist and head of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Sustainability Standards Program.

“This year we partnered with Green Park Content to help us better communicate this goal to the larger public. UNFSS needs to maintain inclusivity in our channels of communication, ensuring no one is left behind.”

In addition, the UNFSS will present the results of an upcoming report on ‘Exploring the role of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) for Women’s Economic Empowerment in the agriculture sector in developing countries’ ahead of International Women’s Day.
