Ad of the Day: Loewe unveils 3D billboard as part of Spirited Away collab

Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe is dazzling passersby on the streets of Chengdu with a 3D billboard featuring pieces from its latest collection that takes inspiration from Studio Ghibli’s animated film Spirited Away.

The campaign, which was shot by famed photographer Juergen Teller, encapsulates the dream-like qualities that the animation studio is known for, with the 3D billboard showing off various handbags in a whimsical way.


According to Loewe, which is LVMH's oldest luxury fashion house, the partnership is about ‘fusing exquisite craft with kaleidoscopic fantasy.’

In addition to the 3D activation, the range is being supported by traditional out-of-home (OOH) billboards in Paris, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo, as well as social media amplification.


3D campaigns have risen in popularity recently and blur the lines between technology and reality while showcasing that creativity in advertising really is limitless.
