Making connections for small businesses

The Digital Makeover: E2 – Making connections

For small business owners, who are often bursting with great ideas, have a sound business model in place and an incredible product or service to offer, the challenges that digital disruption has brought about can leave many struggling to know what to do or where to go next.

Continuing our Digital Makeover documentary series, episode two [if you missed episode one you can catch it here] takes us back to New York City, USA and Kirkintilloch, Scotland to see the two small business owners – Jim Little of Caurnie Soaperie and Alice Liu of Grand Tea and Imports – introduced to their respective team leaders.

In conversation with Natasha Chetiyawardana, creative partner and co-founder, Bow & Arrow (part of Accenture Interactive) for Team UK and Tressie Lieberman, vice president digital marketing, off-premise, Chipotle for Team US, the team leaders gain a deeper understanding of the problems and challenges these two small businesses face in their business and key areas in which they need help to improve.

“I’d definitely look to change the website, to de-plasticise the packaging, and smooth out friction in the ordering process.” – Jim Little, Caurnie Soaperie

Bringing a new sense of optimism for the small businesses through these new connections, viewers are also introduced to the industry contributors making up each team, who bring a range of expertise and diverse skills to the table. We also get a glimpse of the initial plans that they plan to pitch to each business with proposed changes aiming to help them unlock the value of digital within their business.
