Halloween is right around the corner, and to celebrate the spooky season Burger King is giving away free food with one spine-chilling stipulation – you must order it during the witching hour.

The fast-food chain is well known for loving a bit of hocus pocus at this time of year and has once again teamed up with creative agency David Madrid to let consumers know about the devilishly good deal.

Every day on the lead-up to October 31, at 3am for one hour only a different free meal will appear on the Burger King app. Fast-food lovers just need to download it and wait for the apparitions to occur.

According to paranormal experts, this time of night is when spirits, ghosts and many unexplained supernatural phenomena are most likely to appear. Burger King taps into this superstition, and in the video we see books flying off shelves, chairs twisting around on their own and kitchen taps aggressively spouting water, all while people innocently try to get a good night’s sleep.

“Every Halloween, Burger King is looking for different ways to engage with its customers,” said André Toledo, executive creative director at David Madrid.

“This year, we decided to give a reward to the brave ones: those who dare to be awake at the scariest time of day, during the scariest week of the year.”

The eerie idea, created by the Spanish office of David, will run in different markets around the globe.

Will you dare to wake up with Burger King this All Hallows’ Eve, or will you forever be haunted by this missed deal well into the afterlife?
